Faleke Omo anyandolapo Ogodo Haynes offers music programs suited to different environments like schools, retirement communities, drug rehab centers, corporate camps and many other social programs and community gathering places.
We offer courses on African style drumming, singing, dance, instrument making, Nigerian/Cuban Lucumi Yoruba Bata drumming and Orisha Oriki praise singing (Nigerian Yoruba language Course).
Our instructors have lived and studied in Nigeria, Cuba, Senegal, UK, USA, Brazil, Trinidad and Tobago.
If you are interested in Yoruba culture and would like to learn the ancient songs and praises of their ancestors and ancient drumming styles, then this is made for you!
Class Format 8 weeks x 1 hr 20 min sessions
Conga drums
1.beating conga drum technique in hand placement and working with sounds
2 making different tones
3 working with Clave Rhythms/ two sticks you beat together
4.working with basic Yambu and Rumba Rhythms
5.working with two conga drums. Yambo Rumba Rhythms
6. Working with Mambo rhythms
7 working with guanguanco rhythms one or two drums
8 working with Cow bell patterns
9 working with 6/8 feel guanguanco
Singing class of Nigerian/Cuban Yoruba orisha songs
Working with clave rhythms
Working with voice tones
Working with songs and meanings
Working with Lucumi Yoruba and Nigerian orisha songs
Working on clapping rhythms when singing
Bata Drums Class
Beginners will need to have some experience in playing congas or other drums style at a good standard to do this class
1.working with Okonkolo drum (technique in hand placement and working with sounds)
2 making different tones on all Bata drums (technique in hand placement and working with sounds)
3 working with Itototle drum (technique in hand placement and working with sounds)
4 working with Iya drum (technique in hand placement and working with sounds)
Classes will take place twice a week @ The Bernie Grant Arts Centre N1, nearest tube Seven Sisters and once a week @ The Paddington Arts Centre, nearest tube Westbourne Park

Tuesdays: Music Therapy workshops: focus on learning basic Bembe style rhythms of Afro Cuban/conga drums shekeres cowbells, pattern rhythms 1.00-2.00pm beginners level @ The Westminster Drug Project, 102 Harrow Road W9
Thursdays: beginners level Orisha singing 6.30-7.30pm
Fridays: bata drummers, beginners & intermediate level 7.00-8.00pm and Orisha singing for intermediate levels 8.30-9.30pm
Prices £10 per hour/£8 for students or unemployed or under 18s @ The Paddington Arts Centre, nearest tube Westbourne Park
